Our Methodology

Data sources

• HFEA register — our base list of all licensed UK fertility clinics, including success rates by age band and treatment type.
• Clinic websites — pricing, add-on costs, consultation fees and treatment options, scraped on a rolling schedule and verified manually.
• NHS England, NHS Wales, NHS Scotland and HSCNI — current ICB-level eligibility rules for funded IVF.
• Care Quality Commission — published inspection ratings where available.

How we score clinics

Clinics are described, not ranked. Each profile shows the underlying HFEA success rate, advertised cycle cost, patient satisfaction and CQC rating where available. We do not produce a single composite score because no single number captures the trade-offs between cost, success rate and patient experience.

Update cadence

• HFEA data: refreshed when HFEA publishes new figures
• Clinic pricing: refreshed monthly
• NHS eligibility: refreshed quarterly or when ICBs change rules
• Editorial guides: reviewed at least every six months

Editorial independence

No clinic, lead buyer, or commercial partner pays to be listed, ranked, featured, or omitted from Clear Fertility. We accept no advertising from clinics. Where we earn revenue from third parties, we disclose it on the relevant page.
